In this 2-day class we will cover all of the basics of wax carving: tools, layout, blocking the design, sizing rings, carving the wax, and filing. You will have time to carve two rings: an embellished band and a ring to accept either a faceted stone or cabochon.
For experienced metal-smiths, this is a wonderful skill to add to your toolbox. However, since no jewelry-making experience is necessary to carve waxes, it’s a super fun way to get started making jewelry or just to make a ring for someone special or yourself.
You will leave ready to send your ring/s off to be cast in either, gold, silver, or platinum. (Casting costs are not included in the class fees.)
All tools, equipment, and supplies will be provided in your class fee. Just bring yourself, plan to have a wonderful time, and go home with something truly unique.
