Sun, Mar 13, 2022 -- 9:00 AM-11:30 AM at Creator Haven LLC

ClassGraphic

Take your glass fusing to the next level with new techniques, such as pattern bars, edge construction, pulling glass cane from a vitrigraph kiln, draping, and frit casting. Students will build on their previous fusing knowledge to make more complex fused glass art pieces.

In this fast-paced class, the emphasis is hands-on learning through the design and implementation of personalized fused glass projects. Each student will complete at least 3 individualized, unique pieces, depending on size and complexity. Pieces may include candle holders, platters, bowls, trays, plaques and art pieces.

Students will have access to a configurable glass cutting system, diamond table and ring saws, table and flat-lap grinding machines and a vitrigraph kiln. Grow your knowledge of the interaction of glass and temperature and learn how kiln firing schedules are designed and programmed into digital kilns. Use of tools and safety equipment, glass, consumables, and kiln firings (fusing, polishing, draping, slumping) are included.

Prerequisite: Completion of one or more beginning fused glass classes or equivalent experience. Wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes. Class size is limited to 6 to allow for personalized instruction so register early!

Please note that all students who participate in classes offered at Creator Haven must be vaccinated, and will be asked to confirm their vaccination status when they arrive. Students will also be asked to complete additional health and safety forms upon arrival.
