Intro to Fused Glass (Ages 14-16) (CE10998) – Week 2 of 3

Tue, Jun 21, 2022 -- 9:00 AM-1:00 PM at Creator Haven LLC

Glass fusing is the art of creating both decorative and functional glass art by cutting, shaping, layering, and decorating glass which is fired and fused in a kiln. You will complete four or more unique, colorful fused glass pieces, and you get to choose your projects! You can choose from a variety of functional options including a wall vase, plate, tray, bowl, and decorative items like a plaque, glass dragonflies or starfish. Learn about different forms of art glass, how to cut and shape glass using a variety of tools and glass art equipment, and how time and temperature of the kiln controls the look, shape, and structure of your final piece. The focus will be on creativity, design, and learning skills and techniques that allow you to bring your vision to life in fused glass!

Kiln firing services are provided by the instructor. Final projects will be available for pick-up a week after the last class to allow for kiln firing time.
