Spend a week making jewelry that expresses your own unique style!
You’ll use copper, bronze and silver as well as precious and semiprecious stones as you learn a variety of jewelry and metal arts skills in our fully equipped jewelry Studio. Students will explore enameling, stone setting in bezels, cold connections such as riveting and tab settings, forging, and other decorative techniques such as roller printing, adding color to metal, and stamping. You’ll use a hydraulic press, metal shear, and other specialty jewelers’ tools. You’ll even learn to make your own earwires, clasps and headpins! You’ll leave with a whole wardrobe of new jewelry to wear yourself or give to someone special.
Bring a lunch and snack, including drink, each day. You may be working with substances that can permanently stain clothing. So wear comfortable clothes but avoid wearing anything that you can’t replace! (A kitchen bib-style apron is also a good idea.)
Tuition of $450 includes all 5 days of camp and all materials needed to complete the class projects.
For safety reasons, no billowy clothes and no sandals or flip-flops — you must wear closed toe shoes and long hair must be pulled back. Safety equipment such as ear and eye protection will provided for certain activities and must be worn as instructed.
Each student must complete a Waiver and Release of Liability before working in the Studio and if under 18, the form must also have a parent’s or guardian’s signature.
