Silver metal clay is like magic! It starts in clay form and then fires in a kiln to a solid pure silver finished product.
Learn to work with the metal clay, including proper forming, firing, finishing techniques, and design considerations. Learn the use of tools such as ring sizers, ring mandrels, and metal clay specialty tools, as well as techniques for repairing breaks both before and after firing.
We’ll use silver metal clay to make one or more beautiful solid silver rings just right for you, or as a gift for someone you love.
We’ll take a lunch break mid-day. Bring a lunch and beverage, or plan to go to one of the nearby restaurants.
Metal clay experience will be useful, but is not required!
Depending on time constraints for firing, students may need to pick up finished pieces up to ten days after class.
All tools and equipment provided. Bring your own magnifying eyewear if desired.
